Me in 20

I suppose I should have written this post sooner so that you could get to know me better. Since I’m on this path to a better life and healthier lifestyle, I won’t waste time with regret and I’ll just get to writing. IΒ figured the best way I could do this, so as not to write a super long post was to share 20 things most people don’t know about me. So here we go, this is Me in 20.

1) I can’t swim or ride a bike

2) I get along stupendously with my ex-husband and his new girlfriend (post to come at a later date) and many people think it’s odd.

3) I hate fried eggs but love scrambled eggs—I hate soft boiled eggs but love hard boiled eggs.

4) I love cherries but hate anything made of cherries

5) I graduated college with honors with a Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies but have a full time job in Finance

6) My first child (my son) was conceived via Intra-Uterine Insemination (My daughter came a year later, naturally)

7) Prior to suffering from PMDD I was also (and still am) battling depression.

8) I don’t drink coffee. It makes me sick.

10) I have 3 brothers and 1 sister. I am the 4th of 5 children.

I hope that in addition to my about page, these 20 little known facts about me have shed a little more light into who I am.

  1. #16 — Did you like Beauty and the Beast when it was a television show in the late 1980s? I did and have been rewatching it on I miss television like that.

      1. Maybe I am a bit older than you. It is a crime show that incorporates fantasy and romance (not sex). Oh, and I liked the Smurfs, too. I collected those little blue, rubbery things! Do you remember them?

  2. Girl, we gotta chat by phone! We’ve been following each other on Insta and after reading this I know why! I’m 4 out of 5 too and struggled with “stuff” in my 40s. πŸ™‚

    1. Hi. Thanks for reading. Sorry you’ve had struggles. I guess most people do. I hope you’ve overcome them or are working at it. We have to make a phone date

  3. I loved your list! I get along super well with my ex-husband, something his new wife has yet to understand. I figure it’s better that way than hating each other. Our divorce was very amicable, thank goodness. I rather like the friendship we have built over the years of not being married. I still very much consider him my family. Thank you for sharing!

    1. I feel exactly the same way. I consider us family and I think at first his GF was a bit out off by our relationship. Over the years I’ve shown her that it’s truly a family relationship between he and I. She and I get along great. I’m grateful for that. And yes life is much easier when everyone involved gets along especially when there are children in the picture. Thanks again for reading.

    1. Thanks for readingπŸ’›πŸ’› I’m eating all the wrong things that’s for sure. I’m trying to get better. But after years of being this damn picky it’s hard to switch gears.

  4. I can’t swim either. I never want to learn. I wear contacts so swimming is out of the question. Plus, I like to feel the ground beneath me. πŸ™‚ I am sorry you’re still battling depression. I went through that deep valley for about a year. Feel free to email if you’d like someone to “talk” to or resource/support to help overcome it. Know that you’re not alone.

    1. Hi. Thanks so much for reading. I guess it must be hard to try and swim with contacts on. I have kids and it worries me that they may be in some situation I can’t help them in should I need to. That’s my biggest worry for not knowing how to swim. Also the fact that they can swim and I would like to enjoy that with them. They love the pool and I just can’t participate. It’s amazing how many people have or are going through depression. I’m sorry you had to go through that but I’m very happy that you were able to overcome it. Thank you so much for offering support. That is extremely sweet of you and it’s truly appreciated. πŸ’›

    1. Hi. Thanks for reading. That’s funny. I love period movies and series but for some reason I just haven’t had the least bit of interest in this one. I love that you fell asleep at the end. That’s classic!! πŸ’›

  5. Great list! We have some things in common, like our love for tv crime drama :-). Hmm, what’s something people don’t know about me…I can’t really smell skunk. For many, many years I couldn’t smell it at all. Now, I get a very faint sense of the odor, but given the reaction that others have, I’d say I can’t really smell it. Odd right? πŸ™‚

    1. Hi. Thanks for reading. Glad you liked my list. Awesome that you also love tv crime drama. So entertaining. You’re one lucky person that you can’t smell it. It’s so fowl it makes me gag instantly.

  6. Wow, thank you for sharing this! My parents divorced when I was 10, but they’ve remained friends since and now my mom and stepmom are thick as thieves — we always get questions. My dad is an amazing cook and when he has my brother’s family and mine up – my mom always comes up too. Even when my dad had another child – my mom practically treated my littlest brother like one of her own and people often assumed he was hers.

I also struggled with infertility for many years before finally having my son. We did 4 or 5 rounds of IUI (medicated an unmedicated) until moving to IVF with 2 rounds before getting that +. A friend of mine also did IVF for twins first a couple years ago, then last year fell pregnant naturally. It’s funny how it works like that.

    1. Wow sounds like your family life (mom and dad etc) is great. Seems like everyone is very open minded. I’m the same way. I love my ex husband’s babies. They’re super adorable and we all have a great time when we’re together.
As for the IVF sorry you had to go through all that. But you finally got your + and that’s what matters. It’s very invasive. That I know. So kudos to you for going through so many rounds. I know other people who have had to go through some sort of procedure for their first child and the next one comes easy as pie. Lol. I think sometimes we just need a little extra push to get everything working right. Thanks for reading and your great comment.

    1. Yes. The pics are amazing. I’m going to make it a point to go. I have to. It’s been a dream of mine for years and I think I’m in a good place now financially to make it happen. Thank you so much for reading. πŸ™‚

  7. A great way to learn a lot in a short space of time about you! All really interesting and paints a picture of you in my head. What do most people not know about me? Probably that I suffer from depression, I don’t really tell anyone that.

    1. Hi. Thanks for reading. I’m sorry you’re suffering from depression it’s certainly not easy. I hope you have it under control. If you ever need anything don’t hesitate.

  8. This is a great read! I could see myself in some of these. I can’t swim or ride a bike either. And I’m allergic to softly boiled eggs! Thought I was the only one. Hugs and kisses to you as you cope with PMDD and depression. I suffer from endo and fibromyalgia so I know how hard it can be. Loved reading this!

    1. Hi. Thanks for reading. I suffered and may still suffer from endo and my sister suffers from fibro. So as it turns out we have a lot in common. Thank you so much for the hugs and kisses.

  9. Dang girl, never had a McDonald’s burger? You should probably consider that a blessing…you don’t know what you’re missing! πŸ€“πŸ€“
